If we have to work for someone else, are we really free? I know we all have to do something to survive, but why must that something be to work for someone's benefit? Why can't we all be our own bosses? Why can't every employee be a freelance worker? Those who choose to work more get more offers to work while those who choose to work less get more days off. Everyone determines how many hours they need to work and everyone has the freedom that America is supposedly known for in Fairy Tales.
Of course the system mentioned above is also a dream. There would of course have to be things like universal healthcare in place and other details worked out. I know it's a dream, but how is what we have now not a nightmare? Currently, the majority of Americans are wages slaves. Don't believe this, try to find Americans who don't have to work to survive. Try to find Americans whose money is keeping pace with inflation. Try to find Americans who even live the lives that most Americans lived in the nineties, eighties, seventies. Try to find poor homeless people who don't work full-time jobs. This last one will be easier to accomplish than the others, but the number of fully-employed homeless is high today and increasing with everyday that American leaders send untraceable money to Ukraine, Israel and any other country that doesn't begin with the words United States.
Today's American leadership is not what you get in a strong nation. Today's American leadership is what you get when the rats are trying to leave a sinking ship. Today's leadership is what you get when the rats are trying to steal as many lifeboats or life vests to survive the decline of a nation. Why would the leaders in Washington DC be collectively richer than any Public officials anywhere in the world in modern times.
With leaders like Pelosi, McConnell and even the poor leaders in Washington being millionaires and more concerned with making more millions, what else do America's supposed enemies like China, Russia and Iran need to do but sit back and what for the collapse. With the Federal Government trying to decide if it should allow half the states in America stop the flow of illegal immigrants into the country without any means to track them, what resources must America's enemies use other than a few criminals and terrorists to infiltrate its borders. Think about it, 25 States have opposed the Federal Government 's demand to allow (remove razor wire, etc) to prohibit millions of illegal immigrants coming from countries America destroyed or helped destroy (economically or militarily). It's one thing to have Americans complaining about illegal immigrants destroying American cities
It's a whole different thing to have LEGAL immigrants complaining about illegal immigrants destroying American cities. This last point (to me) seems to be just one more litmus test that American leadership has failed. This is why I look at all of the big wigs in corporate America with disdain. From the local manager whose concerned about the efficiency of their office to the CEO of international "American" corporation, they all look like children. As they selfishly worry about jobs and careers that won't exist in the time it takes America's economy to collapse, making them irrelevant or the few years that Artificial Intelligence needs to replace them, America's leaders from the top down are failing to see the big picture. They are failing to look down the road and see the sinkhole we are ALL approaching at an exponentially increasing pace. If you don't believe it's exponential, consider the following: America's governmental debt, deficit and surplus (yes we had a surplus) used to be measured in the billions. Now these metrics are measured in the trillions. America's debt is increasing by one trillion dollars every hundred days. In that hundred days which is a little more than three month, America's debt goes up by $1,000,000,000,000 dollars. When Bill Clinton left office (not praising Clinton here: read my previous posts to learn how one of his last acts in office caused the 2008 economic collapse) the government of the USA had a surplus. I don't remember how much of a surplus, but I think it was in the billions. Now, the government is running a deficit of two trillion per year. How can the numbers representing America's debt $35 trillion ($35,000,000,000,000) be anything but abstractions to most Americans who making $25/hr or less?
In 2018, I wrote a book highlighting the problems Humanity would face if more power, wealth, and control was funneled to a small group of elite individuals, groups, or organizations. In my book, I provided solutions (from myself and others) to the inevitable problems and also a means for the Public to analyze, compare, and contrast the words and deeds of those we choose to follow against reality. In "Solutions...", I provide the means for readers to disseminate information as provided by their news sources of choice, their elected officials, and any other authority they choose to follow. The book also offers a means to hold their leaders up, not just to a higher standard than is currently accepted but to one that would improve their lives and the lives of those for whom they care.
