If the U.S. Government fails to help most of its citizens, should it be collecting taxes from those citizens? Taxes pay for the services that the governing body or authority provide, right? Or, am I missing something?
I for one don't feel like my government is doing anything to help me through life, other then relieve me of my hard earned dollars, which they seem to only devalue by allowing the addition of trillion to America's economy. As of the writing of this post, U.S. debt stood at just shy of 35, TRILLION dollars. Click here to have a look for yourself. In the past, I've pointed how this much money must be an abstract that most people just can't comprehend. 34 TRILLION dollars is this many one, two, three... $34,000,000,000,000, That's one THOUSAND billion, which is one THOUSAND million! WHAT!!!!!! Who do we write that check to? Where does one even get a check that big? I don't the the Publisher's Clearing House checks could even come in that size. Winning the $5,000 dollars a week for forever (as depicted in the picture), that woman would have to live for 653,846,153,846 BILLION YEARS to pay off 34 TRILLION dollars... and that's with aero interest. With interest, we're talking at least 42... carry the 4... divide by -2... times... what, that can't be right. I think we would have to make up a new number to pay the principal and interest.
Now, getting back to my government collecting taxes from me and most Americans. If I look at the services my country provides to me and the money they collect from me, I would have to conclude that Washington D.C. only collects taxes to pay for the people who collect taxes. I get nothing for the taxes I pay: I don't feel as if the military my taxes support are making me more secure as an American citizen, especially not when the U.S. State Department issues a WORLDWIDE travel advisory to all Americans. I don't feel financially secure when the government allows the Federal Reserve to devalue every dollar I hold by endlessly printing money that is created with 40% debt attached to every dollar that comes into existence. I don't believe that my future is bright, because the only trends I see regarding almost every metric of American life have been negative since the eighties.
Ultimately, it seems to me that my government is taxing me so they can pay their own salaries, because they aren't doing anything for me.
In 2018, I wrote a book highlighting the problems Humanity would face if more power, wealth, and control was funneled to a small group of elite individuals, groups, or organizations. In my book, I provided solutions (from myself and others) to the inevitable problems and also a means for the Public to analyze, compare, and contrast the words and deeds of those we choose to follow against reality. In my book Solutions: Enough complaining. Let's fix America.
In "Solutions...", I provide the means for readers to disseminate information as provided by their news sources of choice, their elected officials, and any other authority they choose to follow. The book also offers a means to hold their leaders up, not just to a higher standard than is currently accepted but to one that would improve their lives and the lives of those for whom they care.
