Do most Americans know what Socialism is? Do most Americans know that America has several organizations that are based on Socialism? Do most Americans realize that the biggest recipients of Socialism in America are the rich in general and the ultra rich specifically.
I guess the first thing to do is provide a definition for Socialism. While there are slight variations in the definition of Socialism, the jest of the term is as follows: an economic system in which the means of production and distribution is owned collectively. What it boils down to is that everyone owns the means of production of goods and services and everyone is responsible for the distribution of those services as well as the profits made from said distribution. While the control of the means of production and distribution may vary in scope, entities like the U.S. military would fall within half of the definition of Socialism. We (American tax payera) pay for our military collectively through our taxes, but we don't have collective control over what that military is used for and where the profits made efor the use of our military go. The budget for the U.S. military is eight hundred (800) billion dollars which comes from our taxes. Though we pay for our military, we don't benefit from its use in any way. The military contractors make all of the money to fabricate our weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) and they profit even more when we utilize those WMDs. That's an eight hundred billion dollar transfer of wealth from the American tax payer to some corporation like Boeing or Ratheon and most Americans are unaware of this fact. As a side note, the 800 billion referenced above is the known dollar amount budgeted for our ineffectual military. As was the case, the day before the attacks on 9/11 occurred, there are trillions of dollars budgeted to the U.S. military that cannot be accounted for in an audit. Oddly enough, the accounting agency investigating the two (2) trillion missing dollars budgeted to the military was destroyed by one of the planes that attacked on 9/11.
Other agencies that are Socialistic in nature are the Police, most firefighters, teachers and any program that is paid for through taxation of the masses. It's odd how the weakest of recipients of Socialized programs are the only ones attacked by those who are supposed to represent their best interests. Teachers were demonized as too much of a strain on the economy. The elderly as well. You never hear about the military being accused of coating the U.S. too much. And before anyone pulls the "military keeps us safe" card, I would rebute with two points. First off, America hasn't won a war or conflict since WWII and this leads to the second point. If your country continually strikes out against countries all over the world, but gets its ass kicked or at the least expell by combatants like the Taliban and it's last century technology, who could you ever feel safe? Imagine breaking into all of your neighbors house welding a gun, but the neighbors always beat your ass with broomsticks, spatulas, pencils (insert any weapon that should not Trump a gun here). Not only wouldn't your neighbors fear you after a while, but they might turn on you preemptively.
The crackhead down the street just won't stop trying to rob us. Maybe we should cut off his trigger fingers and take his bullets away from him. He is exhibiting some very dangerous behaviors and him wrecking our homes is becoming quite tiresome.
THAT'S AMERICA'S MILITARY!!!!! Eventually, the neighbors are going to get tired of us wrecking their homes while realizing that even with our modern technology, we can't win anything.
As far as other ways in which America condones Socialism, what else could you call a system that takes taxes from the majority and gives that money to a small minority through tax breaks? Most ericans subsidize the rich because while our taxes go up, so too do the number of loopholes the rich use to pay so little in taxes? Imagine how you would benefit if the whole country paid taxes while you made millions or billions in profit but through loopholes only paid in taxes what you pay now because everyone pays enough to compensate for how little you pay. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR GOVERNMENT TAXES HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MIDDLE CLASS AND POUR PEOPLE WHILE PROVIDING LOOPHOLE DOR THE RICH. Why not eliminate all loopholes and make everyone pay the same percentage in taxes?... because keeping the tax code complicated keeps most from realizing the Government is robbing Peter to pay Paul. It also gives politicians one more thing to run on.
If I'm elected, I will lower your (moreso the rich amongst you, he says under his breath) taxes.
