Eye opener for April 02, 2024: A nation can't stand on the weak

A nation is a manmade construct. It is a population with more things in common than differences coming together to create a country. Though there may be geological formations that create natural borders, many of the borders created and imposed are artificial assignments that the majority swear to defend.

While an individual may pledge allegiance to their nation, there are certain expectations that this individual may have in regards to that nation. There will always be the expectation that the nation takes care of its people. Perhaps not all people can or will be protected, but a plurality if not a majority of them will be covered in their time of need. As implied in the previous sentence, not all citizens are protected at all times, but this is neither necessary nor desirable. You want to have a country in which some or most of your citizens can stand on their own two feet. As for those who can't you want your country to provide them support until such a time arises when they no longer need assistance.

The inherent connections between a national and it's citizens is cyclical. The nation needs the allegiance of a majority of its citizens. The citizens provide their allegiance to the nation, allowing the nation to exist, prosper and thrive. The citizens need the support of their nation to varying degrees. The nation provides for the needs of citizens which allows them to exist, prosper and thrive. The greater the support provided to the nation from its citizens, the greater the nation. The greater the support provided to the citizens from said nation, the greater the citizens.

Given the relationship between and the reliance that these two entities (citizens and their nation) have, the inverse of what was stated above will also be true. A citizenry without the support of its nation will either and die as will a nation without the support of its citizenry. In America, it has become increasingly more apparent that the nation no longer prioritizes support for its citizens. This has become more apparent as one conspiracy theory after another has turned out to simply be a conspiracy. When the truth is declassified about what started the Vietnam war are declassified and come out decades later as a lie, people have no choice but to question the motives behind such choices and the things that such choices impact: American lives for Vietnam what? What did we gain from the ten years of war in Vietnam? The same can be said about the response to 9/11. Why did we go to war with Iraq when it was known that Iraq had no ties to the attacks in New York while 15 of the 19 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia? And, how did the 19 years of war in Iraq help American citizens? And, finally, the longest war in American history: How many people died on both sides of that war? How did America control Afghanistan which produced 70 of the opium on the planet and still have an opium epidemic? How did the 8 trillion spent on that war benefit anyone. Is America 8 trillion dollars richer or is America's debt now approaching 35 trillion dollars. Did the Afghan people benefit from America's intervention. Did the world benefit from it? Is the world safer for Americans or less safe?

As for domestic policy, who can honestly say that Americans are better off now than they were ten or twenty years ago? Who can say that it was only external forces that caused Americans to lose so much if their wealth. What attacks from foreign nations can we point to that have caused more harm than America's own domestic policies that have given more money to the rich year after year, decades after decades? There are only two culprits upon which the blame for such inequities can be blamed, yet too few blame them. America has been ruled by either the Democrats or the Republicans for decades and neither party has been able to do anything significant to curb the problems we face as a nation. Why does anyone put their faith in either of these parties. Regardless of which you find yourself affiliated, that party has either been to weak, incompetent or complacent to do anything to better your life. Do their intentions matter when you life or the lives of your loved ones are at stake? Ultimately, when life around you is crumbling, those leading you are failing you. The nation to which you pledged allegiance is failing you. And when it has failed enough of you, that nations existence fails into question. Like the ancient religions from Roman and Greece

We will know of their greatest victories but we will be living in the rumble of their greater defeats
A nation cannot stand unless it stands on the backs of strong citizens

In 2018, I wrote a book highlighting the problems Humanity would face if more power, wealth, and control was funneled to a small group of elite individuals, groups, or organizations. In my book, I provided solutions (from myself and others) to the inevitable problems and also a means for the Public to analyze, compare, and contrast the words and deeds of those we choose to follow against reality. In my book Solutions: Enough complaining. Let's fix America.

In "Solutions...", I provide the means for readers to disseminate information as provided by their news sources of choice, their elected officials, and any other authority they choose to follow. The book also offers a means to hold their leaders up, not just to a higher standard than is currently accepted but to one that would improve their lives and the lives of those for whom they care.
