Eye opener for March 07, 2024: Is it logical to depend on others to live?

In the past it may have made sense to rely on others for those things necessary to sustain life. People living in cities couldn't purify their own water or sew their own clothes. They couldn't build their own homes or grow their own food. They were too busy working and making other people rich. The saving grace however was that there seemed to be enough people elected to leadership roles that had integrity. Sure, there were campaign promises that may not have been realized while these people were in office, but they did what they could and they kept nfarious actors in check. They didn't let the rich just steamroll the rest of us. In other words, they created a civilization in which all had the opportunity not only survive, but to actually thrive.

death. Many people actually got to retire and live for themselves for a number of years before leaving it all to the next generation.

Now however, all trends seem to point down as they pertain to life in America. And, while some Americans still believe Ameica is the best country in almost every single way and others will tell me to leave it I don't like it, they will never point out how America the best country on Earth. As for me, I can't say that America is the best place on Earth... anymore. And, this is the point.

While I would have professed undying loyalty to my country of birth, I can no longer take such an oath. Why would I? America has let me down. It has and is letting more of its citizens down every day. And by it, I actually mean they. And by they, I mean those leaders who see fit to erode rights like freedom of speech, privacy, security good health and more. While there is a few posts that could be written about the rights that have been trampled on in America, I want to focus on the right to life, something guaranteed in the founding documents of this country.

If Americans have the right to life, how then are the resources required for life allowed to be put outside of the reach of so many? How is it that food production and processing has been privatized and inflated beyond many people's mean while there is a surplus of money for other countries like Ukraine and Israel? How is it that inflation in America never officially rose over ten percent, but the costs of many food items have gone up by 50, 60, 100, 200 percent? The numbers don't match and anyone elected to office should have been taught enough math to recognize this disparity. So, our leaders are either too stupid to see the price gouging occuring before everyone's eyes or they're too corrupt to do anything about it. No matter how you look at it, the truth of the matter is that our leaders are letting more of us down every day. By keeping us down, I mean due, because mankind has yet to learn how to enjoy the right to life without food.

So, in regards to food and all necessities for life, I believe there should be no profit motive for such commodities. I believe these things should be the purview of the public sector because private food companies are starving too many of our countrymen. This, in the nation known as the richest country in Earth.

Now, I know there will be no publically fund and operated food production in America any time soon, so I suggest that people learn to grow their own food. Communities should ban together and coordinate in an effort to provide for one another those things that their government her cannot or won't provide. America should consider ditch the lawns that fit the landscape from sea to shining sea for victory gardens. One neighbors grows this crop, one neighbor grows that crop. The community grows as many different crops as are permitted by the environment in which they live. Imagine drive down any street in America and instead of seeing one lawn after another, you saw a yard of potatoes next to a yard of peppers and so on.

If necessary, get laws changed, vote out leaders who oppose self-reliance in favor of manufactured scarcity for profit sake. Grow whatever you can. Share your harvest with your neighbor who should in turn share their harvest with you. Sell any surplus to the people on the next block or trade your surplus for their surplus. Do this or wait until the three days worth of food in grocery shelves disappears because high gas prices have rendered trucking inefficient and inoperable.

In 2018, I wrote a book highlighting the problems Humanity would face if more power, wealth, and control was funneled to a small group of elite individuals, groups, or organizations. In my book, I provided solutions (from myself and others) to the inevitable problems and also a means for the Public to analyze, compare, and contrast the words and deeds of those we choose to follow against reality. In my book Solutions: Enough complaining. Let's fix America.

In "Solutions...", I provide the means for readers to disseminate information as provided by their news sources of choice, their elected officials, and any other authority they choose to follow. The book also offers a means to hold their leaders up, not just to a higher standard than is currently accepted but to one that would improve their lives and the lives of those for whom they care.
