Eye opener for April 14, 2024: Reclaiming power from Artificial Intelligence

If Humanity relinquishes a majority of its duties pertaining to survival to Artificial Intelligence (AI), how will Mankind reestablish control?

Let's say, AI starts seeming those things people need to live irrelevant or detrimental to the future of our planet. What if AI starts to view humans the way humans view cockroaches or mosquitoes or bees? While entomologists understand the necessity for such creatures, most people don't and therefore care little to none about their survival. The things that insects and all creatures deemed lesser than have either been exploited for mankind's use or driven into extinction at a greater rate than natural selection in several cases. So, what do we do if all self-driving cars become sentient and understand the sacrifice they must make to fulfill Greta Thunberg's goals? What happens when all of the smart farm equipment on all the farmland owned by Bill Gates and all the other rich people who own all the farmland decides that even eating food made from bugs isn't worth the burden that mankind puts on the planet's resources?

Right now, AI is replacing jobs that people thought it wouldn't replace for decades. White collar jobs are be terminated at companies like Google because AI can do them better. While many may not see this as threatening, that's only because they've assumed their ignorance has little to no consequences. This would be the same sentiment held by those who ignored Hitler's rise in the distant but not so distant past and those who ignored Biden lying, corruption and dementia in the recent past to the present. It's the same ignorance that has allowed Israel to commit genocide without realizing Israel was committing genocide that would be on pace to eclipse the Holocaust except for the fact that there are only 2 million people to kill in Gaza.

How would we wrest control back from an AI that can think like a person but a million or billion or trillion times faster once we've relinquish control over things like engineering, food production, water purification, sanitation and more. Just think about the way in which America has dealt with discard plastics. We have masses of plastic in every ocean, some the size of Texas years ago. We also are getting our garbage sent back from countries that no longer are willing to let our garbage become their garbage. What logical mind would view this as a positive outcome or outlook for the planet? If we've trained and raised a generation of people willing to accept the ideas of unelected world leaders pushing ideas like

You'll own nothing and be happy.

or we've allowed billionaires and trillion-dollar companies to buy everything up, including those things needed to Humanity's existence, what chance do these subsequent generations have of wrestling power back from AIs?

In 2018, I wrote a book highlighting the problems Humanity would face if more power, wealth, and control was funneled to a small group of elite individuals, groups, or organizations. In my book, I provided solutions (from myself and others) to the inevitable problems and also a means for the Public to analyze, compare, and contrast the words and deeds of those we choose to follow against reality. In my book Solutions: Enough complaining. Let's fix America.

In "Solutions...", I provide the means for readers to disseminate information as provided by their news sources of choice, their elected officials, and any other authority they choose to follow. The book also offers a means to hold their leaders up, not just to a higher standard than is currently accepted but to one that would improve their lives and the lives of those for whom they care.
