Eye opener for April 20, 2024: When it's almost all bad news

It's very telling when almost all of the news is bad. There is always some good news around the world but those feel good stories are usually isolated to the few individuals in the story. Most good news stories today don't impact a community or communities at large. This however cannot be said about the bad news stories.

Economically, the story is always bad. Whether it's continued inflation or continued war, the lives of the majority are almost always negatively impacted. Even when the news is good, there is always a negative spin put in it.

One recent example is where the minimum wage for workers is increased in places like California. The biggest stories to come from such news is how prices will go up and jobs will be cut because if the increase in wages. While these things may be true, the stories ignore the fact that prices have gone up without an increase in the national minimum wage for over two decades. As for laying off employees, that happens every year regardless of any increase in wages, but this aspect is ignored as well. Instead, the focus is always on how negatively impacted businesses will be due to increased wages. Why can't the focus be how positively the majority of those if us who aren't rich will be affected?

Why don't we hear about countries like the United States allowing sovereign nations settle their own disputes because the U.S. hasn't helped troubled nations in a humanitarian, economic capacity nor a democratic capacity ever. Instead, America has created situations like open slave markets in Libya, the most successful African nation be fore Hillary Clinton jokingly said

"We came, we saw he died."

Or when Madeline Albright said killing half a million Iraqi children was worth the price. Remember, Iraq never attacked America, not even years after the interview referenced in the previous sentence. So, what was the value added for the majority of Americans that could justify the 500,000 child deaths that Albright justified as Secretary of State. Isn't one of the reasons given why women would be better leaders because they wouldn't women supposed to be better leaders because they wouldn't push for war and conflict? Of course women are not some monolithic gender, so maybe it's more of a bloodlust thing with the Clinton's as Albright was Bill Clinton's secretary of state and Hillary was a Clinton when she cackled about overthrowing Qaddafi, who coincidental proposed using a gold-backed currency instead of dollars to settle exchanges amongst African nations before having a sword shoved up his ass. Where was the economic benefit?

What security gains have occured due to American intervention around the world? For that matter where is the increased security for any American allies around the Globe. Germany, once the richest nation in the European Union is struggling. And, if world war one and world war two are any indicators, you don't want to have Germany struggling, especially as leaders like Biden push for war with China, Russia and any country looking to reduce U.S. intervention and hegemony.

And then there's the claim that America is spreading Democracy around the planet. The rationale is that America is bringing freedom to citizens of other countries by forcing Democracy on them. Not only does this sound like an oxymoron, but it's only true if the citizens of another country elect a leader that America likes. Look at Venezuela, where America wouldn't recognize the democratically elected president until it needed that country's oil. Look at Iran, where America helped overthrow democratically elected leader Mosaddegh. America has had nothing but poor outcomes for the people in countries in which it has interfered. This weakens America's relationships around the world. America has not won a war or conflict in any country in which it has interfered since WWII. This weakens American security around the world. America has allowed the rich to confiscate an inordinate and unsustainable amount of power, money and control over resources that the majority of its citizens need to survive. The weakens the nation as a whole, as more lose faith in the nation. And, as much as a People may need their nation to secure their safety, Liberty and freedom, a nation needs its People to exist. This is true because a nation is a manmade construct and when too few People believe in that nation, it spirals into decline, collapsed and eventually ceases to exist.

The good news however is that rich Americans can simply takes their ill-gotten gains and move to another country to plunder... Or can they?

In 2018, I wrote a book highlighting the problems Humanity would face if more power, wealth, and control was funneled to a small group of elite individuals, groups, or organizations. In my book, I provided solutions (from myself and others) to the inevitable problems and also a means for the Public to analyze, compare, and contrast the words and deeds of those we choose to follow against reality. In my book Solutions: Enough complaining. Let's fix America.

In "Solutions...", I provide the means for readers to disseminate information as provided by their news sources of choice, their elected officials, and any other authority they choose to follow. The book also offers a means to hold their leaders up, not just to a higher standard than is currently accepted but to one that would improve their lives and the lives of those for whom they care.

With Humanity seeming to be getting dumber, this is the last thing we need. As I've pondered, why do people seem dumber than ever when almost all, if not all of Humanity's knowledge is available on th
