America may have arguably set the standards for the way a nation should operate. U.S. manufacturing was a powerhouse, as was it's growing economy. American's were living a standard that was the envy of many around the world... Remember when owning a pair of blue jeans was the goal of so many around the Globe?
Is this the case today? Can this be the case today, in a country in which poverty, homelessness, crime caused by desperation and illegal immigration are on the rise? Can America and American life be the standard upon which all other citizens measure their own lives? This, I would posit is doubtful when Americans themselves no longer live the standard of living enjoyed by the previous generation. When wealth is only being passed down amongst the wealthiest Americans and the life expectancy is decreasing, how could America be the standard for the rest of the world. When more Americans are calling the streets home, how could anyone anywhere else on the planet want to emulate or imitate anything about American life?
Few, if any of this American generation can afford a home, pay off the student loans, determine what comprises a man or a woman. None of this bodes well for the perpetuation of the species, so what country and what people would want to go by such an example?
As for the final argument that points to American superiority, Freedom of Speech, that right is being eroded day by day and far too few Americans are protesting the loss of this right. The irony of the loss of this right while so many remain silent is astounding. And, the fact that so many leaders and media figures are pushing for censorship moves this into the realm of the absurd.
So, there is really no metric at which someone could point to that could indicate America is the example the rest of the world should follow. There is no example to point to that indicates following America's lead will lead you or your country to prosperity. There are, however examples of how detrimental doing so can be to your country. Listen to the following stories about how Germany's economy went from the strongest in Europe to the weakest.
And, like it or not, we have examples of what happens when Germany's and its people are pushed to the brink.
In 2018, I wrote a book highlighting the problems Humanity would face if more power, wealth, and control was funneled to a small group of elite individuals, groups, or organizations. In my book, I provided solutions (from myself and others) to the inevitable problems and also a means for the Public to analyze, compare, and contrast the words and deeds of those we choose to follow against reality. In "Solutions...", I provide the means for readers to disseminate information as provided by their news sources of choice, their elected officials, and any other authority they choose to follow. The book also offers a means to hold their leaders up, not just to a higher standard than is currently accepted but to one that would improve their lives and the lives of those for whom they care.
