Eye opener for August 02, 2024: Who does the Government work for?

Writer's picture: Chris OssmanChris Ossman

When will clarity finally settle into enough Americans to realize that our Government is not working for the majority of Americans. At what point do we stop Government from harming citizens?

We pay taxes to fund the Government that is supposed to in turn work for and represent the will of the people. Now, one could interpret that to mean the will of some people or of a small group of people relative to the citizenry of the entire nation. The problem with this interpretation however is that a Government such as that would not receive the support of the masses... under normal circumstances. Think about it objectively. If a Government came out and declared that it was going to tax all working citizens so it could do the bidding and business of just a few of those citizens. I doubt that the majority would agree to such an arrangement.

This ironically is the agreement that the Government of the United States of America has with its people. And, worse still is the fact that the minority of citizens for whom America's Government works pay a much smaller percentage in taxes than most Americans. We know about the disparity in taxes between the rich and everyone else because politicians have been promising for years to make taxes more equitable across all economic brackets. We know that most of the laws passed at least at the national level only benefit the rich from the Princeton study that showed America was an Oligarchy. We know that laws that apply to the entire nation don't apply to our Congress, because Nancy Pelosi told the Press that they should be allowed to do insider trading. We all know, or most of us know, that our Government gets our tax dollars simply to pay their own salaries for position into which we elected them, because it has done nothing for us for decades. We know that American wars and military interventions are useless, because we keep starting them and whether for liberty, Democracy or Humanitarian reasons, we lose them all. And, those countries to which we claim to be bringing liberty, Democracy and Humanitarian aid, always seem to be left much worse off than prior to our "assistance".

How could sending billions of dollars ever make sense to anyone, from the poorest to the richest citizen or a single politician when we have millions starving and dying I sone of the biggest, richest cities in America. This couldn't or does it make sense to anyone, except to those who profit from such immoral, illicit behavior. What makes less sense that any of the immoral spending and serial murders caused by illegal wars however is the fact that Americans allow this to happen. Of the 350 plus million Americans today, it is the fewer than 1000 in Washington D.C. who commit this country to wars that do nothing but make some assholes richer.

That's 350,000,000 people being led into illegal, immoral, unjustified wars by fewer than 1000 people. That's less than 1 person in our national Government making the decision for 350,00 people to send billions of dollars to a foreign nations instead of feeding or housing the poor or offering them jobs to fix our failing infrastructure. With the Internet on every cell phone and computer, how are people so ignorant to these facts? We'd better hope there are no extraterrestrial beings visit this planet because as stupid as we are with knowledge at our fingertips, am alien race could come to Earth with four or five ETs and run the table. Those aliens would douch better than buying Manhattan for some beads and blankets. Hope you like your alien probe.

In 2018, I wrote a book highlighting the problems Humanity would face if more power, wealth, and control was funneled to a small group of elite individuals, groups, or organizations. In my book, I provided solutions (from myself and others) to the inevitable problems and also a means for the Public to analyze, compare, and contrast the words and deeds of those we choose to follow against reality. In my book Solutions: Enough complaining. Let's fix America.

In "Solutions...", I provide the means for readers to disseminate information as provided by their news sources of choice, their elected officials, and any other authority they choose to follow. The book also offers a means to hold their leaders up, not just to a higher standard than is currently accepted but to one that would improve their lives and the lives of those for whom they care.
