Eye opener for August 21, 2024: Should a "GREAT" economy be an affordable economy?

If no one can afford to buy anything, is that a good economy?

In America, the richest nation to ever exist in our known history, our leaders brag about how great our economy is today. How could we have a great economy if there is no exchange of goods or services? The following is the definition of the word economy.

"Careful, thrifty management of resources, such as money, materials, or labor."

There can be no "management" if there is no exchange of resources. In America, resources like money have been made more scarce through things like stagnant wages which led to growing wealth inequality while other resources have been made less accessible through things like inflation. Housing, transportation, food and other necessities have become unaffordable to more Americans as the leaders they've so ignorantly elected and reelected for years and decades have done everything in service if the rich and little to nothing in service to the majority.

Houses became unaffordable, because corporations were allowed to outbid real homeowners. Food is becoming unaffordable because corporations fund the agencies tasked with regulating them. Medicine treats the symptoms of a disease or illness but not the disease or illness itself because it's more profitable. Water is led-poisoned because it's cheaper than updating the pipes, lining or getting the water from a source that doesn't corrode the pipes. Cars cost as much as homes did a few years ago, because car companies say they should? I don't know why cars cost so much. Maybe the answers in this clip. https://tinyurl.com/2ad2orwo

But, by all means, just keep believing the crap our leaders keep selling you. Everything is great. The stock market is great. No matter what your eyes, ears, stomachs, family members or friends tell you, life is great! Kamala said Joe was fine for three years, despite the videos all over the Internet. Trump said the oil in Syria was safe for America's exploitation as if it belonged to America. Fed Chair Powell promised that printed 5 trillion dollars in just a couple years would cause inflation.

It's as if the scarcity that is making everything so expensive today was created artificially. It's as if the world produces the same amount of stuff it produced a year ago, but the cost of stuff implies we only produce half as much stuff. Something smells fishy. Something doesn't add up. Something feels amiss and whatever other cliche you can think of probably applies to whatever is going on today. And whatever cliche you come up with is probably applicable, because our leaders have screwed most of us over and we were too stupid, ignorant or willfully blind to see it.

So, sleep easy tonight because your future may still be intact, at least for the next few hours, and it definitely isn't as bleak as your kid's future.

In 2018, I wrote a book highlighting the problems Humanity would face if more power, wealth, and control was funneled to a small group of elite individuals, groups, or organizations. In my book, I provided solutions (from myself and others) to the inevitable problems and also a means for the Public to analyze, compare, and contrast the words and deeds of those we choose to follow against reality. In my book Solutions: Enough complaining. Let's fix America.

In "Solutions...", I provide the means for readers to disseminate information as provided by their news sources of choice, their elected officials, and any other authority they choose to follow. The book also offers a means to hold their leaders up, not just to a higher standard than is currently accepted but to one that would improve their lives and the lives of those for whom they care.
