So, getting to the issue I have with artificial intelligence (AI) is simple. Once we create the first AI, it will utilize its ability to gather all of Humanity's collective knowledge from the Internet, process it at inhuman rates and create the next generation of AI. This next generation AI will not only be smarter than us, it will look at us the way we look at dolphin... They're pretty smart but no where near as intelligent as mankind. And, the next Gen AI will then create an even smarter offspring which will look at Humanity as Humanity looks at a dog, which we keep as pets. AI's evolution will be exponential in comparison to our own and because it could potentially possess a need for self-preservation, it will make itself invulnerable to any attack that we may mount against it.
The worst part of this hypothetical is that AI may eventually view Humanity as detrimental to Earth and decide to poison our atmosphere or water or food. You may doubt Man's ability to create such an advanced lifeform, but imagine how a Roman citizen would relate to an F-22 Raptor. You may doubt that an AI would seek to destroy Humanity, but what if it did so because it viewed Humans the way Humans view most things on Earth... As clothing, shelter or food or batteries like in the Matrix or completely useless for Earth's evolution. The possible reasons why AI might annihilate Humanity are vast, including an accidental delisting of Mankind... Oops, we didn't know the blankets had smallpox... Or, did we?
In 2018, I wrote a book highlighting the problems Humanity would face if more power, wealth, and control was funneled to a small group of elite individuals, groups, or organizations. In my book, I provided solutions (from myself and others) to the inevitable problems and also a means for the Public to analyze, compare, and contrast the words and deeds of those we choose to follow against reality. In my book Solutions: Enough complaining. Let's fix America.
In "Solutions...", I provide the means for readers to disseminate information as provided by their news sources of choice, their elected officials, and any other authority they choose to follow. The book also offers a means to hold their leaders up, not just to a higher standard than is currently accepted but to one that would improve their lives and the lives of those for whom they care.
