"Work until you die" seems to be the growing consensus in America. It doesn't need to be openly stated or put into law. It is simply what seems to happen in late-stage Capitalism.
Years ago the argument was "you don't have to stay at a crappy job. It's a free country. You can quit". No thought about how that unemployed person would buy food or clothes or shelter was ever considered. It was always ust some belligerent jackass implying you could just quit you job and live free in some idealic nation that allows one to just quit
So, despite those who allege that people can just quit, life in America (and anywhere else) requires that one work for sustenance. The question has become however, "for how long must one work? The answer seems to be a moving target as the minimum retirement in the United States was recently increased to 67 years old. And , this some in DC seek to change. Instead of paying into Social Security, our leaders want to end this program and mandate that a portion of your paycheck go to some financial advisor who will see to your future. This is highly suspect when you remember that banks are supposed to see securing you future. That was however before the banks collapsed in 2008 and as they are currently collapsing.
They actually want people to hand their hard earned money over to the types of people who are currently, sucking the wealth out of the economy. This new form of thievery can only lead to one conclusion. You will lose your savings and you will have to work until you die... That is assuming you want to live... It is a free country after all. You can simply quit and face zero consequences.
To recap, you will either live in a country where there is a more equitable distribution of wealth. In that country, you work until you reach a respectable age of retirement. Or, you will live in a country where you will work until you die. The choice is yours, but you must make it before.... Uh oh. It's too late.... Work until you die.
In 2018, I wrote a book highlighting the problems Humanity would face if more power, wealth, and control was funneled to a small group of elite individuals, groups, or organizations. In my book, I provided solutions (from myself and others) to the inevitable problems and also a means for the Public to analyze, compare, and contrast the words and deeds of those we choose to follow against reality. In "Solutions...", I provide the means for readers to disseminate information as provided by their news sources of choice, their elected officials, and any other authority they choose to follow. The book also offers a means to hold their leaders up, not just to a higher standard than is currently accepted but to one that would improve their lives and the lives of those for whom they care.
