It's not the ambition exhibited by those who seek power and wealth that we should fear, it's the greed and inability of restraint that we should. In the corporate world, those climbing the corporate ladder are often said to be standing on the shoulders of Giants, but what no one says is that those same climbers also had to stand on the necks of so many more. As for those in governance, it's so much worse, because they potentially hold the fates of millions in their hands. Put another way, is there any separation between the ambition we admire and the greed we should fear?
